So you like the look and feel of bare-bones British sports cars and you’d love to have a crack at proper wheel-to-wheel racing. So would we, but the advertising revenue off Cafe Roadster isn’t quite bringing in the required lolly … yet. Nevertheless, our chum Michael was in exactly the same boat when he bravely took the plunge in 2011 and arranged delivery of his Caterham Roadsport race package ready to spanner together for the 2012 Caterham Academy race season.
Luckily for us, and any other chap who has ever considered getting into proper circuit racing, Michael painstakingly blogged all about his experiences, from the bloodied knuckles of the build process to his very latest race reports. Check it out here.
In 2015, the Caterham Academy Championship will be celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary. This unique video shows what it’s like to compete in the Academy from a driver’s perspective. It’s the perfect introduction to motorsport in a (relatively) affordable all inclusive package that helps to take a lot of of the stress out of the adventure with a helping hand from Caterham and is aimed exclusively at newbie race drivers who have had no previous race experience. Check out the short video below before you get lost in Michael’s blog and the nitty-gritty of it all.
